CEDD Awarded the Consultancy Agreement for Ecological Surveys and Studies for San Tau to Sham Wat, Yi O and Shap Long – Feasibility Study

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a consultancy agreement of about HK$3.95 million on 6 September 2021 with Mott MacDonald Hong Kong Limited for the feasibility study for ecological surveys and studies for San Tau to Sham Wat, Yi O and Shap Long.

The consultancy agreement mainly comprises the following tasks:

  1. review and consolidate existing ecological information of the Study Areas;
  2. conduct ecological surveys and evaluate/determine the ecological significance of various sites/clusters/habitats in the Study Areas;
  3. identify and evaluate all sources of disturbance impacts of potential/existing threats on the ecologically important areas in the Study Areas; and
  4. recommend appropriate conservation measures to restore, strengthen and enhance the ecological resources in the Study Areas.

The consultancy commenced on 7 September 2021 for completion by August 2023.
