CEDD Awarded the Consultancy Agreement for Sustainable Leisure and Recreation Initiatives in Shek Pik and Adjoining Areas - Investigation

The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) signed a consultancy agreement of about HK$11 million on 5 August 2021 with Binnies Hong Kong Limited for the investigation study for Sustainable Leisure and Recreation Initiatives in Shek Pik and adjoining areas.

The consultancy agreement mainly comprises the following tasks:

  1. carry out evaluation and necessary technical assessments for the proposed walkway along the perimeter of Shek Pik Reservoir, proposed connectors between South Lantau Road and the existing catchwater channel in South Lantau and prepare the preliminary design;
  2. carry out evaluation and necessary technical assessments for the proposed leisure and recreational facilities and associated supporting facilities and prepare the schematic design; and
  3. carry out financial viability assessment and recommend the mode of implementation, management, operation and maintenance for the recommended proposals.

The consultancy commenced on 29 July 2021 for completion by 2023.
