CEDD Signed Contract for Tung Chung New Town Extension – Site Formation and Infrastructure Works at Tung Chung Valley, Phase 1

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$1,139 million on 15 June 2021 with China Railway Group Limited for carrying out site formation and infrastructure works under the Tung Chung New Town Extension project.
The works mainly include:-
- Construction of Road L29 and L30;
- Road Improvement of Chung Mun Road and Shek Mun Kap Road;
- Site formation works for Areas 42 and 46 for public housing development;
- Construction of Common Utility Tunnel (CUT)
- Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) and provision of roadside biowales, attenuation & treatment ponds;
- Construction of River Park and river revitalization works;
- Environmental impact mitigation measures including woodland compensation; and
- Ancillary works including associated civil, geotechnical, structural, electrical and mechanical engineering and landscaping works.
The works commenced on 31 May 2021 for completion in 2025.
