CEDD Signed Contract for Tung Chung New Town Extension – Salt Water Supply System

The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a contract of about HK$ 465.58 million on 15 June 2021 with China Geo-Engineering Corporation for carrying out infrastructure works under the Tung Chung New Town Extension project.
The works mainly include:-
- Construction of Tung Chung Salt Water Pumping Station at Tung Chung East reclamation area with a pumping capacity of 54,000 cu.m per day;
- Construction of Tung Chung Salt Water Service Reservoir near Chek Lap Kok New Village with a storage capacity of about 11,500 cu.m;
- Laying of about 2,600m long salt watermains;
- Laying of about 1,500m long fresh watermains;
- Compensatory woodland planting near Tung Chung Salt Water Service Reservoir; and
- Associated civil, geotechnical, structural, building services systems, electrical and mechanical engineering and landscaping works.
The works commenced on 21 June 2021 for completion in 2024.
