Prototype Testing of “HIKE & SEEK - Hiking Supporting Facilities at Lantau” Project

To enhance the public's hiking experience and ignite innovative ideas for hiking facilities on Lantau Island, the Sustainable Lantau Office appointed consultant to organise the Design Thinking Programme, "HIKE & SEEK – Hiking Supporting Facilities at Lantau", to co-create thematic design of hiking supporting facilities at hiking trails at Lantau, which possesses rich natural and cultural assets. From 2021 to 2022, public participants with diverse backgrounds participated in the several design thinking workshops, designing prototypes in a user-centric approach.

Various prototype designs were showcased at Tung Chung East Promenade from 18 February to 17 April 2023. Citizens are encouraged to provide feedback by scanning the QR codes displayed next to the prototypes.

  2. Family-engagement Installation
  3. Hiking Gear Hub Trolley
  4. Group Hammock Seatings
  5. Resting Decks
