Tung Chung East Promenade and Community Liaison Centre Extension Opening Ceremony cum Fun Days

The Sustainable Lantau Office organised the Tung Chung East Promenade and Community Liaison Centre Extension Opening Ceremony cum Fun Days on 14 and 15 January 2023. The Under Secretary for Development Mr David Lam officiated at the ceremony and witnessed with members of the public the completion of the Tung Chung East Promenade and the opening of the Community Liaison Centre (CLC) Extension.
The approximately 400-meter-long Tung Chung East Promenade is opened in phases with an incremental approach for early public enjoyment of the waterfront facilities. The newly opened promenade connects to the Tung Chung Development Pier in the west, further enhancing the connectivity of the area and providing a comfortable place for local residents to get together. The CLC Extension has also come into operation, with a themed exhibition area and an interactive drawing game area "Wonderful Lantau". The two-day Fun Day featured a variety of programmes, including singing performances by renowned singers, a cappella, street dance, juggling performance, magic show, balloon-twisting, stilts, face-painting etc. A Family Creative Market was also held at the venue. Sixteen free workshops with the theme of sustainable healthy living were also very popular, attracting more than 300 participants.
