“Love and Reunion” Lantern Festival at Tung Chung Promenade

2022.09.02 - 2022.09.13

With a view to creating a vibrant and diverse waterfront, the Sustainable Lantau Office (SLO) organises a “Love and Reunion” Lantern Festival at Tung Chung Promenade from 2 September to 13 September 2022 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with the public.

The Lantern Festival will feature a series of festive decorations including a giant neon light lantern and four-metre tall lantern walls designed by renowned young architect, Mr Stanley Siu . About 1 000 lanterns will be hanged along the promenade.

In the evenings of the Mid-Autumn Day and the following day (10 & 11 September), there is “Traditional Cultural Experience”. Apart from the traditional “Lantern Riddles Game”, there are also the shadow puppet shows and workshops, in which the public can enjoy the story of the Mid-Autumn Festival, as well as making their own shadow puppets and learning how to manipulate them. Members of the public can register on-site on a first-come, first-served basis.
